Eric Pohl, NCEMSF Emergency Management Coordinator, is a Federal On-Scene Coordinator for the United States Environmental Protection Agency, Region 5 Emergency Response Branch and located in Cleveland, Ohio. Professionally, Eric responds to spills and releases of hazardous substances or petroleum, and works to protect human health and the environment. He is a Paramedic and Clinical Preceptor for the City of Hudson, OH Emergency Medical Services. Previously, he was a Supervisory Hazardous Materials Specialist for the Bureau of Police & Security of the New York City Department of Environmental Protection. In 2007, Eric earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Columbia University where he also served as a Crew Chief with the campus ambulance service. Eric obtained his paramedic certification from St. Vincent's Hospital - Manhattan in 2008 and has provided 911 services in OH, NY & NJ. Eric earned a Master of Science degree in Environmental Management from the University of Maryland Global Campus in 2021. Eric's professional interests include CBRN Consequence Management; crisis and disaster response;  environmental sustainability; and responder mental health. He is a member of EPA's National Critical Incident Stress Management team, and also serves on the Summit County, OH ASSIST77 CISM team. He is the former NCEMSF NY Regional Coordinator.
