David Afienko, NCEMSF Massachusetts Regional Coordinator, began his collegiate EMS career with Massachusetts Maritime Academy’s EMS organization. In 2012, David co-founded MMA EMS and granted the role of Chief. David carries prior experience as an EMS field supervisor, part-time faculty at Northeastern University, and as an ER technician at Tufts Medical Center. David graduated from MMA in 2013 with a degree in emergency management. He is a 2020 graduate of Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in New York and completed his emergency medicine residency at Albany Medical Center in 2023. David currently resides in Delmar, NY where he is the associate medical director of Delmar-Bethlehem EMS and works as an emergency physician in multiple ERs in upstate New York.
