Eric Pohl
ny-rc@ncemsf.org

Eric Pohl is the NCEMSF New York Regional Coordinator. Eric’s experience in EMS started through his certification as an EMT-B in New York State during his first semester in college in 2003. He joined with Columbia University EMS in 2004 and has been riding with them ever since, progressing through the ranks, where he currently holds the “Driver” rank and is actively serving as a CCiT (Crew Chief in Training).

Eric also belongs to two other EMS agencies in New York State. During his time home near Albany he rides with the Niskayuna Fire Department and during the summer, the Saratoga Performing Arts Center EMS Corp. He joined both organizations during the Summer of 2004. While not in the original plan, Eric’s EMS experience has started to branch out into Fire/Rescue. While his sleepy town of 30,000 doesn’t experience many structure fires, he enjoys learning fire suppression techniques nonetheless.

A Chemical Engineering major, he expects to complete his undergraduate studies the Spring of 2007. Outside of EMS, Eric served a term on the Board of Directors for WKCR, the radio station of Columbia University, and has an avid interest in audio, sound, and broadcast engineering.
