Joshua A. Marks, M.D.

Joshua MarksJoshua Marks, NCEMSF Secretary, is a general surgery resident at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Jefferson Medical College in June 2007, and his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics in May 2003 from Columbia University. He has been involved with EMS since 1998 as a member of both the Volunteer Medical Service Corps of Lower Merion and Narberth (VMSC) and Columbia University EMS (CUEMS). Joshua serves as VMSC's BLS Training Coordinator and sits on the Corps' Clinical Care and Quality Assurance Committee. While at Columbia, Joshua served as the Chief Medical Officer and Executive Director of CUEMS for two years.

Joshua became involved with NCEMSF in 2000 when he attended his first National Conference as a college freshman. He served for three years as the Foundation's first National Coordinator from 2001 to 2004 before being elected to the Executive Board. Joshua is the 2001 recipient of NCEMSF's George J. Koenig, Jr. Award and 2003 NCEMSF Collegiate Provider of the Year Award as well as the 2003 recipient of the American College Health Association's Lewis Barbato Award.
