vp@ncemsf.org

Scott C. Savett Scott Savett, NCEMSF’s Vice President and Webmaster, has been involved in collegiate EMS since 1991. His EMS career started at Ursinus College (Collegeville, PA) where he was one of the founders of its EMS response group, Student Emergency Response Volunteers (SERV). During that time Scott was also actively involved with two volunteer ambulance squads in Montgomery County (PA), attaining the position of Training Officer at one of them. He was also a certified EMT-instructor with the Montgomery County EMS Training Institute.

Scott received his Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from Ursinus in 1994 and immediately enrolled in graduate school at Indiana University-Bloomington. In 1994, during his first year in graduate school at Indiana University Scott founded IU-EMS, an organization dedicated to providing comprehensive pre-hospital education and service.

Scott transferred to Clemson University (Clemson, SC) in 1995 to continue his graduate studies in chemistry. He was an active volunteer with the Clemson University Fire Department and EMS (CUFD-EMS), eventually upgrading his level of training to NREMT-I and becoming cross-trained in the fire service. In May 2000, Scott received a Ph.D. in analytical chemistry from Clemson University and subsequently relocated to Northern New Jersey to pursue a career in scientific software. While living in New Jersey, Scott was active with the River Vale Volunteer Ambulance Corps in Bergen County, and was their lieutenant in 2002-2003 until his relocation back to the Philadelphia area in 2003.

Professionally Scott is a senior implementation analyst with the Informatics section of the Integrative Technologies Division of Thermo Fisher Scientific, the leading supplier of Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to the pharmaceutical industry.

Scott is currently an EMT-Basic in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He actively volunteers with Whitemarsh Ambulance in the Philadelphia suburbs. He also serves on the board of trustees of that organization.
