Stephen Stokes
nne-rc@ncemsf

Stephen Stokes is the Northern New England Regional Coordinator for the NCEMSF. Stephen’s collegiate EMS experience began at the nation’s oldest private military school, Norwich University. In his first year with NUEMS he ascended to the rank of lieutenant, based on his experience and qualifications. Stephen finished his time with the squad as Chief of EMS for the University and handed the reins over to the new chief in April of 2008.

Stephen began in EMS in the spring of 1997 with the Charlestown Ambulance and Rescue service as an aide/rider. As time progressed, he earned his Rhode Island EMT-B license in the year 2000. In the year 2002, Stephen completed his EMT cardiac license for the state and gained full-time employment with The Westerly Ambulance Corps, an agency with a run volume of around 5,300. After working full-time for 3 years, he returned to college to pursue his degree. At total, Stephen has been in the field of EMS for the last 11 years, 6 of which have been spent as an ALS provider, and he has been a member of several EMS agencies. He has held an EMT license/certification in the states of RI, CT, NY and VT.

A Criminal Justice Major, he expects to complete his undergraduate degree in August of 2008, and go on to graduate school sometime there after. As a resident of a beach community, Stephen is and avid Scuba diver and ocean visitor. As well as EMS work in the summer, he spends his weekends as a bouncer for a beach club.
