August 19, 2003:  This series of photos of the sun setting over Lake Michigan was taken from the back seat of Dave's Super Decathlon while negotiating the pattern at South Haven, MI.

September 22, 2004:  Yet another spectacular sunset seen from over South Haven, MI.

November 22, 2004:  This photo of the setting sun was taken at 10,500 feet from the edge of an overcast cloud layer.  Until my flying trip to the Rocky Mountains in May 2008, this flight was the highest I had every climbed as pilot in command.

November 28, 2004:  Sunset photographed during descent to South Haven, MI in Warrior 481.

June 14, 2006:  "Eye in the Sky"  As I turned southbound from the Lake Ontario shoreline, my eyes were caught by a flash as the setting sun aligned with a hole in the cloud deck.  Sunbeams poured through the opening and the water glittered with reflected luminance.

September 26, 2006:  As seen from three thousand feet and five miles south of my home base in LeRoy, NY.

January 3, 2007:  This series of sunset photographs was taken from 4500' near Rochester while returning home from my first trip to the Adirondack mountains.  It made for a spectacular end to one of my most memorable aeronautical daytrips.
