Cardiac Trauma: When What You Need Beating, Takes a Beating

Major trauma to the heart can cause detrimental, and often fatal, effects. While not normally taught in EMS curricula, cardiac trauma can present clinically in a wide range of ways, from simple arrhythmias to sudden cardiac arrest. In this presentation, we'll go through the types of blunt cardiac injuries, and possible basic and advanced treatments of these injuries in the field.
