Unconventional EMS Support to Law Enforcement Operations

This presentation will provide participants with considerations for supporting law enforcement operations which may affect the application of routine EMS fundamentals. It will address how to plan and integrate with law enforcement to ensure coordinated efforts for timely, effective patient care and transport in unconventional settings. An understanding of these perspectives will assist in EMS integration with law enforcement responses to the growing occurrences of complex and high risk tactical situations. This integration will assist EMS providers in their effectiveness in preparing and responding to unconventional casualty situations. We will review case studies of complex law enforcement operations to reinforce the concepts of this presentation.
