The Patient Arrested – Now What? Evidence-Based Resuscitation in 2019.

This ISN’T your run-of-the-mill ACLS talk! EMS teams are called to care for some of the sickest patients prone to cardiopulmonary collapse. Although we all maintain CPR certifications and paramedics are ACLS trained, a number of recent studies have called into question whether we’re properly resuscitating our patients in the peri- and intra-arrest setting. This presentation will review notable studies from the last few years, including PART, AIRWAYS2, PARAMEDIC2, ALPS, and others, and offer insight into what they might mean for critical care resuscitation in current and future practice. Please note that most discussion will be geared toward ALS-level interventions.
