1) 33rd Annual NCEMSF Conference - February 20-22, 2026 - Arlington, VA

Join NCEMSF and an anticipated 1,500 of your colleagues February 20-22, 2026 as we return to Washington, DC (Crystal City - Arlington, VA) for the first time since 2013! Located just adjacent to Washington's National Airport (DCA), our host hotel, the DoubleTree by Hilton Washington, DC-Crystal City will provide attendees and presenters alike an ideal venue for EMS education while also being located close to the DMV region's wealth of historical and cultural attractions. In addition, in 2026, you can look forward to:

  • Larger lecture rooms, allowing more attendees for our popular presenters
  • Free airport shuttle service to/from DCA
  • Proximity to the WMATA Blue and Yellow lines
  • A variety of restaurant and entertainment options just a short walk away

We are also now accepting submissions for those looking to present at the 2026 Conference. We have opportunities for standard theater-style lectures, hands-on skills labs, panel and group discussions, and short-form lightning talks. Current undergraduates are also invited to submit abstracts for the Vomacka Student Speaker Competition as well as enter original EMS research in the Journal of Collegiate EMS's Academic Poster Session. The Conference Scholarship Program (designed to provide assistance to new schools or groups experiencing a unique financial hardship) is also now accepting applications.

The NCEMSF Conference website will be continually updated throughout the fall with information about hotel reservations, awards, the annual skills classic and other important information. Registration for Conference attendance will open in early December.

2) Collegiate EMS Week 2025 and National Collegiate CPR Day - Starts Monday, November 10

The 27th annual Collegiate EMS Week and CPR Day are just around the corner. Take advantage of this week-long opportunity, modeled after National EMS Week, to celebrate campus based EMS together with all other collegiate squads. National Collegiate CPR Day will kick off Collegiate EMS Week. The goal is to have as many college students as possible educated in the basic principles of CPR on a single day across all of North America. Begin planning now, and let NCEMSF know how you mark the week on your campus!

You can learn more about both of these exciting programs and gain access to resources to help you have a successful EMS Week and CPR Day by visiting the EMS Week and CPR Day pages on our website. Each page also links to an event-specific packet with additional information.

3) Annual Membership Dues and Institutional Contact Information

Please update your online profile today with your corrected mailing address, email address, and telephone number. While online, please also renew your NCEMSF membership for the new academic year. Annual membership dues support ongoing NCEMSF activities and programs. Submitting your dues early affirms your ongoing support of campus-based EMS.

Squad leadership and advisors should also take time now to ensure your group's Institutional Database Profile is current. You can make any changes (or add any missing listings) by logging in with your Institutional Website Account. Please also submit your annual Institutional Dues. As a reminder, squads can only be eligible for organizational awards and self-evaluative programs if their Institutional dues are current. For questions or issues, please reach out to your Regional Coordinator

Of note for campus based EMS advisors and medical directors, our quarterly moderated roundtable discussions continue via Teams. Our next scheduled session is Monday, November 17th at 4PM EST. If you need to be added to the calendar invite with the link for the call, please email info@ncemsf.org.

4) Volunteer Leadership Team Additions and More Volunteer Opportunities

NCEMSF is able to perform its mission through the hard work of our volunteer team. We would like to welcome and introduce several new members of our leadership team, and let you know about additional opportunities to contribute to NCEMSF.

  • Ellika Greaves joins as the Canada Regional Coordinator. Ellika was a member of McMaster EFRT.
  • Nicole Behnken is our new Assistant Central Regional Coordinator, assisting Laura Hanson. Nicole is affiliated with University of Colorado Boulder EMS.
  • Margaret Dickey is our new Assistant North Central Regional Coordinator, assisting Kris Kurtz. Margaret was previously with St. Olaf University EMS.

Be sure to check out the Regional Coordinator listing for full details and contact information.  We are still looking for a few more individuals to fill open roles. Are you a recent graduate who wants to stay involved with EMS and help the next generation of Collegiate EMTs? Our current needs are:

  • Members of our Regional Coordinator network who can represent the Massachusetts, Midwest, and New York regions. Regional Coordinators serve as a link between NCEMSF and member institutions, assisting schools with questions and issues, promoting their schools' achievements, and ensuring schools are aware of and participate in NCEMSF programs. Ideal candidates will have experience with leadership or program management (like coordinating CPR classes) at their squad, the ability to check emails frequently and respond to issues promptly, and the ability to help in-person at our annual Conference each February.
  • An Assistant Webmaster to help support the Foundation's technologies. Ideal candidates will be familiar with PHP/MySQL-based content management systems (CMS). You will help maintain the Foundation's website, ensure that processes such as Conference Registration and Continuing Education tracking function correctly, and leverage technology to develop new ways to improve the experience of Foundation members and Conference attendees.

To learn more about these positions, or if you want to contribute in another role not listed here, please visit our website

Have a safe and healthy fall semester and see you in Washington this Winter!
