ALLENTOWN, Pa. (March 25, 2001) – The Muhlenberg College Emergency Medical Services, an all-volunteer campus organization located in Allentown, PA, treated and transported Guster band member Adam Gardner for a sprained ankle after he injured it playing racquetball. The incident occurred just hours before the first performance of the band’s new tour, but thanks to the efforts of the EMS members as well as the local hospital Adam was back for the sound check within two hours of his injury. Adam was able to successfully complete the show by performing while sitting in a chair on stage, but despite this setback the show was a hit.

For a first hand account, Guster has published an account of this incident on their website at http://www.guster.com (click on road diary).
