SERV to Present Lecture on Emergency Response

Student Emergency Response Volunteers will present a lecture on the issues involved in responding to the shooting of a police officer. The lecture will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 24, at 7 p.m. in Pfahler Auditorium. The program is open to all, but will be limited to the first 100 people to register. If you wish to attend, please register at serv@ursinus.edu.

James Cheezum, EMT-P, firefighter, and Thomas A. Johnson, EMT-P, a police investigator, will speak. The men were among the initial responders when Police Officer Dennis McNamara of the Upper Darby Police Department was shot and killed in the line of duty. They will make recommendations for responding to similar incidents include patient care issues, crime scene preservation and interagency coordination.
