Conference Scholarship Program / New Group Initiative
Purpose: The purpose of the NCEMSF New Group Initiative and Conference Scholarship Program is to 1) provide scholarship funds to groups in the formative stages; 2) offer assistance to organizations facing unique and significant financial hardship; and 3) provide incentive funds to help expand NCEMSF conference attendance.
Inclusion criteria: To be eligible for scholarship support your collegiate EMS organization must be a current-year dues-paying member of NCEMSF (see the membership section of the NCEMSF Web site for details and to submit annual dues) and meet one of the following criteria. Additionally, an organization selected to receive funds may not have been awarded scholarship under this program within the past five years.
- New collegiate EMS start-up
- Collegiate EMS organization that has not been represented at an NCEMSF conference within the last 4 years
- Established collegiate EMS organization completely new to NCEMSF
- Established collegiate EMS organization known to NCEMSF and a usual conference attendee experiencing unique and significant financial hardship this academic year.
Funding: Funds are limited, and the NCEMSF Board desires to assist the greatest number of organizations possible. The goal is to facilitate two members from each recipient organization to attend. The funds awarded are not intended to cover the full cost of conference attendance, but rather are designed to help ease the financial burden and supplement other funding sources. Funds are distributed as reimbursement at the conclusion of the conference.
Selection Process: The NCEMSF Board of Directors will review each application submitted electronically and will select those to be sponsored. Those selected will be notified in late January or early February.
Application Deadline: The initial application deadline has been extended to January 16, 2025. The deadline may be extended if additional funds remain available after the initial reviews.
