Community and Youth Education & Engagement: First-Aid & CPR
Emergencies are unpredictable and can occur at any moment. Over 240 million 9-1-1 calls are made in the United States each year. The national average for an emergency response is approximately fifteen minutes (response times vary significantly based on location). Is your community prepared to help when an emergency arises? When it comes to saving lives, every second counts and a prepared bystander may make the difference between life and death. This seminar is designed to provide the tools and knowledge necessary for EMS teams to bring lifesaving initiatives to their community. The presentation will cover how to engage students based on learning styles, how to promote long-term success and growth of programs, and youth EMS education. Community education helps to provide peace of mind when an emergency situation arises. Participants typically respond with little to no hesitation as they have been exposed to the imperative steps needed to save a life.
