Innovative Training Strategies and Debriefing with Good Judgement
This hybrid lecture and discussion was given to all skills evaluators and young educators at Stony Brook Volunteer Ambulance Corps (SBVAC) beginning in the Fall of 2014. Its implementation has allowed the corps to innovate its specific style of EMS education. This lecture will help guide collegiate EMS leaders to develop evidence based training practices at their agencies. Derived from the advocacy and inquiry model of debriefing, this Q&A style discussion will engage attendees to challenge their preconceived notions on what education and debriefing means to them in collegiate EMS. From probie to field training officer, this lecture will help provide a framework to adequately debrief anything from simple training cases to the call-gone-awry.
