Splinting Musculoskeletal Injuries in the Outdoors
Carrying a pack, hiking long distances, climbing, and paddling can all cause unusable injuries such as fractures. NOLS Wilderness Medicine will introduce participants to treatment for common injuries and decision-making tools for managing these injuries in the outdoors. Attendees will get hands-on practice using common materials on-hand in the wilderness to splint and immobilize these injuries.
