Emergency Management: It's More Than Just ICS

Emergency Management is a year round activity that starts long before and continues long after an emergency response. NCEMSF has acknowledged the importance of coordinated emergency management programs through development of the EMS Ready Campus recognition program. This session will introduce you to the basic concepts of all-hazard emergency management. We will cover the four phases of emergency management, review some of the EM alphabet soup (such as THIRA, EOP, COOP, HSEEP, IMT, IAEM), and discuss examples of emergency management related activities for EMS squads.
