31st Annual National Collegiate EMS Conference

Thank you for your interest in becoming a presenter at the 31st Annual National Collegiate Emergency Medical Services Foundation Conference. The weekend is dedicated towards the education of college and university EMS providers. Our mission is to encourage our members to become the EMS leaders of tomorrow. We anticipate approximately 1200 attendees representing over 110 universities and colleges. Lecturing to impressionable college students, who are interested in the health professions and genuinely want to make a difference on their campus and in their community, is one of the most rewarding experiences that you will ever find.

Presentation Formats

NCEMSF uses a schedule format composed of 60 minute blocks, scheduled on Friday evening, Saturday all day, and Sunday morning. Presentations within these blocks are in the following formats.

Conference Registration and Other Remuneration

We continue to be thankful that we are able to recruit nationally known lecturers that are willing to donate their time towards educating the leaders of tomorrow. As a gesture of appreciation for those presenters, we are pleased to continue our tradition of offering complimentary Conference registration for lead presenters of Standard Theater-Style Lectures, Young Alumni Lectures, and Hands-On Skills Sessions. Complimentary registrations will be processed automatically prior to the start of the Conference. Presenters (with the exception of Vomacka Student Speakers) should check in at the designated station to receive their Conference ID badge and other materials. Vomacka Student Speakers are not eligible for complimentary registration, and current undergraduates approved for other presentation types are also not eligible for complimentary registration.

In an effort to keep the cost our conference affordable for college students, we are unable to provide honoraria or travel reimbursement. NCEMSF does secure a special hotel rate for all attendees and presenters as listed on our Conference webpage. To reduce issues related to booking and room prices, we encourage presenters to reserve their rooms at the host hotel prior to the listed room reservation deadline. If you are having difficulty securing a room at the host hotel at NCEMSF's negotiated rate, we ask that you contact confinfo@ncemsf.org so we can try to assist.

Presenters selected for Hands-On Skills Sessions will be reimbursed for supplies at or after the Conference after submitting appropriate documentation of expenses. The reimbursement only applies to equipment (usually consumable, not durable) necessary for a specific skills session. In certain limited cases, NCEMSF may opt to procure the supplies directly. Expenses not listed on the presentation submission prior to the submission deadline may not qualify for reimbursement or purchase by NCEMSF, and NCEMSF reserves the right to not reimburse expenses it deems unnecessary or excessive.

Continuing Education Credit

NCEMSF offers EMS continuing education credit through the Texas Department of State Health Services, in lieu of our previous practice of Continuing Education by Endorsement. As a part of this process, some new requirements are in place:

Lecture Submission Process

Our Conference session submission system requires that you have an NCEMSF Website account. If you believe you had an account in the past but need assistance finding it, please contact our IT team at webmaster@ncemsf.org. If you have not created an account before, please create one.

After you have logged in, look at the bottom of this page for the button to submit a presentation. Complete all required fields to submit your application. Upon successful submission, you will receive an email with a copy of your submission. You are able to make edits until the submission deadline.

File uploads are available on this page for lesson plans, resumes of presenters, copies of PowerPoint presentations, and session outlines. Certain of these items are required for us to be able to offer attendees Continuing Education credit, including receiving a copy of your presentation prior to the start of the Conference weekend.

Submissions will be accepted on a rolling basis, with the first reviews starting in late October. We encourage you to submit as soon as possible as space is limited in our program. If you do not hear from us after the first review, this usually means we are trying to find space for your presentation in our program.

Final Thoughts and Thanks

The NCEMSF Conference remains one of the most affordable EMS education events in the country, thanks in large part to the efforts of our presenters and our completely volunteer staff. It also is one of an ever-smaller number of conferences that prioritizes educational opportunities in its scheduling, offering fifteen or more contact hours each year in the two and a half days of the Conference. None of this is possible without prospective presenters like you, and for that I offer my thanks in advance of your submission.

If you have any questions, please contact me at president@ncemsf.org.

NCEMSF President
