Members of the Senate of the Undergraduate Government of Boston College (UGBC) met last Sunday to discuss general business.

Acting Senate Chair Matt Bowie, A&S '03, presented a resolution to the group that provided Eagle EMS with a $1,000 scholarship to defray the costs of training classes for future members. Eagle EMS Capt. Mark Switaj, systems manager for The Heights and CSOM '05, discussed the role the group plays on campus with Senate members. The volunteer group has 20 EMTs and 125 non-EMTs who have yet to take the training class needed to become a certified EMT. Switaj told the group that 70 students are planning to become certified during the spring semester.

The resolution passed unanimously.
