Job Description: Regional Coordinator

NCEMSF is seeking highly-motivated individuals to join our team as Regional Coordinators. NCEMSF is a 501(c)(3) organization devoted to promoting and growing collegiate EMS in the United States and other countries. Founded in 1993, the organization now has over 200 institutional members, and its annual conference routinely draws more than 1000 attendees. All NCEMSF staff members are volunteers who support the organization and its members in their free time.

As a Regional Coordinator, you will work with other members of the Regional Coordinator team and the National Coordinator to serve as a liaison between NCEMSF and its member organizations. The Regional Coordinator (RC) is responsible for being the primary contact for all collegiate EMS agencies in their region and serves as the agency's first-line contact with NCEMSF. The RC provides guidance and consistent communication, fosters regional communication, and supplies resources to support each agency. The RC assists the NCEMSF Startup Coordinator with startup EMS organizations within their region. Other responsibilities include participation in monthly conference calls, attendance at the Annual Conference, and maintaining updated contact and profile information in the Organization Database for each agency. Within the NCEMSF leadership framework, RCs report to the National Coordinator (NC) and must periodically provide regional updates to the NC.

Your duties would include remaining in contact with schools in your region via email, phone, or in-person visits; responding to requests for information or assistance from member schools in your region (to include triaging those requests and forwarding them on to the most appropriate NCEMSF staff member in the event that the request is outside your area of expertise); soliciting feedback from schools in your region when requested by other schools or the National Coordinator; monitoring Conference registrations from your region and encouraging attendance; and other duties as assigned. In addition, you have the opportunity to support the Foundation's other operational divisions, including our self-evaluative programs (HeartSafe Campus, Ready EMS Campus, and Striving for Excellence), and our various focus areas (EMS research, the NCEMSF Skills Classic, etc.).

We are specifically seeking a candidate with the following qualifications:

  • While in college, was a member of that school's collegiate EMS organization. Preference will be given to candidates with any of the following additional qualifications:
    • Previous squad leadership role (Chief, President, etc.)
    • Other role with programmatic responsibility in the organization (training coordinator, PAD site coordinator, etc.)
  • Not currently serving as a Chief/Director of a collegiate EMS agency.
  • Self-motivated and able to handle assignments without direct supervision.
  • Outgoing or otherwise interested in maintaining interpersonal and organizational relationships, including a willingness to have phone conversations or in-person meetings.
  • Has sufficient time outside of work/school/family to respond to emails and voicemail messages promptly (within 72 hours).
  • Must be able to attend the organization's annual conference, including setup and take-down times. The conference is typically held on the last weekend in February, with setup occurring the Wednesday or Thursday before the Conference and take-down lasting through Sunday evening. NCEMSF staff are provided with a hotel room (shared with another staff member) and some meals, but are responsible for their own transportation.
  • Must be able to attend monthly conference calls.
  • Must maintain a paid Personal membership with NCEMSF (can be a Lifetime member).

If you are interested in this position, please complete the form below and a member of our staff will contact you. This position will remain open until filled, and we may select more than one qualified candidate. We also may refer candidates not selected for this position for other vacancies within NCEMSF.
