Joshua A. Marks, MD

Joshua Marks, NCEMSF Secretary, is an Associate Professor of Surgery in the Division of Acute Care Surgery: Trauma, Surgical Critical Care and Emergency General Surgery of Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University. He is the Program Director for the Surgical Critical Care Fellowship and Associate Program Director for the General Surgery Residency as well as the Surgical ICU Medical Director at Jefferson. He is Board Certified in surgery and surgical critical care and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and the American College of Critical Care Medicine (FCCM). He completed his fellowship in trauma and surgical critical care at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and his general surgery residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Jefferson Medical College (now SKMC) in June 2007, and his BA in Economics in May 2003 from Columbia University. He has been involved with EMS since 1998, as a member of Narberth Ambulance and served on Narberth’s Board of Directors for twelve years as the Corps’ Treasurer, Secretary, Membership Chair, and BLS Training Coordinator. He is currently a Life Member and an Assistant Medical Director. While at Columbia, Josh served as the Chief Medical Officer and Executive Director of Columbia University EMS. Joshua became involved with NCEMSF in 2000. He served for three years as the Foundation's first National Coordinator from 2001 to 2004 before being elected to the Executive Board. Joshua is the 2003 NCEMSF Collegiate Provider of the Year Award as well as the 2003 recipient of the American College Health Association's Lewis Barbato Award.
