Laura Hanson became involved in collegiate EMS as Founding Chief of Operations of the University of Arizona EMS from 2011- 2012. She received a BS in Physiology in 2012 and an MA in Biomedical Sciences in 2015. Laura worked as an EMT for Rural/Metro Southwest Ambulance from 2012-2017 and volunteered part-time as a reserve for the Arizona Department of Public Safety Air Rescue helicopter for many years. She completed medical school at the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2020, emergency medicine residency at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Mississippi in 2023, and EMS fellowship at The University of North Carolina in 2024. She currently works as an emergency medicine physician and EMS medical director at Yale University.
