Jack ChildsJack Childs, the NCEMSF Mid-Atlantic Assistant Regional Coordinator, has been involved in EMS since he was 15, starting as a volunteer EMT with the Greenwich EMS Explorer Post and earning his EMT certification. Throughout high school, he continued to volunteer and eventually became the Explorer Post President, where he shared his passion for EMS with fellow students.

During his undergraduate studies at Georgetown University, Jack served as a crew chief and driver for GERMS, holding positions as Director of Safety, Treasurer, and ultimately Captain. As the captain, Jack served as the operational director of the agency and oversaw operational and administrative transitions for GERMS following the COVID-19 pandemic.

In his senior year, Jack interned in the Office of the Medical Director at DC Fire & EMS, focusing on quality improvement projects, particularly around controlled medication usage. He then worked full-time as a quality improvement analyst at DC Fire & EMS during his gap year, coordinating initiatives to enhance the quality of care for the District’s residents and visitors.

Currently, Jack remains active as a per-diem EMT, serves as an advisor for the Explorer Post, and instructs EMT classes at Greenwich EMS. He is now a medical student at George Washington University School of Medicine.
