Press Release

The Virginia Tech Rescue Squad is pleased to announce that it will be offering EMT-B again in the Fall of 2004. VTRS hosted a class this semester on-campus and it was a great success. "The class began in January and I continued to get emails and requests through March," said Training Lieutenant Ann Burnham.

Thanks to the amount of interest and the efforts of the VTRS members, the instructor- Paul Fleenor with the Virginia Office of EMS- wants to teach the course again in the Fall of 2004. The course starting date has not yet been determined, however it will closely follow the Virginia Tech academic calendar. Registration for the course is separate from University course registration and utilizes the form available from our website.

The class is being offered to anyone who is interested, whether they are a student of Virginia Tech or not. A membership with a rescue squad is not necessary, but would be useful to provide hands-on practice of the skills being taught in class. The course will be held in McBryde Hall on Virginia Tech campus.
