Medics will now be able to respond quicker to emergencies at Binghamton University.
The Harpur's Ferry Student Volunteer Ambulance Service dedicated an ambulance at a special ceremony Saturday.
This is the student organization's second ambulance. It contains state-of-the art equipment and offers advanced life support to its patients.
"We have a lot of calls that come in back to back which means we have to get two rigs out quickly to cover both calls. Otherwise we would have to call Vestal or one of the surrounding agencies. So this helps us a lot covering our calls. And with the new events center on campus it provides an ambulance to stand by there at events," Joshua Parsons, of the Harpur's Ferry Emergency Services, says.
Harpur's Ferry is one of only eight collegiate EMS agencies in the nation to offer advanced life support to its patients.
