Harpur's Ferry was honored as the EMS Organization of the Year at the recent National Collegiate Emergency Medical Services Foundation conference in Boston, Mass.

The honor is given to one agency nationwide each year for excellence in collegiate emergency medical services.

And for the second year in a row, Harpur's Ferry took top honors in the foundation's advanced life support skills team competition. Joshua Parsons, Evan Gluck, Michael Schlazer and Benjamin Krakauer were on the team this year.

Harpur's Ferry was earlier named Emergency Medical Services Agency of the Year by the New York State EMS Council.

Harpur's Ferry maintains a roster of 130 to 150 active members. Although most of the volunteers are students, the squad includes faculty and staff members as well as alumni.
