Brooklyn College EMS Purchases New Ambulance

Press Release

This past spring semester Brooklyn College EMS (BC-EMS) purchased a new ambulance replacing its much-used 1987 Braun. The ambulance purchased was a 2001 Wheeled Coach custom built ambulance.

Brooklyn College is the only City University of New York campus that has its own ambulance responding to medical emergencies. The squad's members are all current and former students of Brooklyn College; “BC-EMS response area also includes two New York City public schools and the campuses surrounding community” said Chief of Operations Allen Minzer.

The new ambulance will ensure BC-EMS will be able to respond rapidly to medical emergencies for many years to come. The purchase of this ambulance would not have been possible without the hard work of Mario Cabrera, who is currently the administrator Director of BC-EMS.

Our squad is deeply appreciative to have someone like Mario Cabrera working for us,” said Cheryl Nissenbaum, a member of BC-EMS’s Board of Directors. If you have any questions or are interested in joining BC-EMS you can reach them at (718) 951-5859.
